Nirmal Purja among 10 climbers feared missing after avalanche
A ten-member international climbing team led by renowned Nepal-born mountaineer Nirmal Purja is feared missing after an avalanche struck Pakistan's Broad Peak on Thursday. The 8,047-metre peak avalanche occurred around midday with no subsequent contact from the group, which includes climbers from Nepal, America, China and Oman. Purja, a former Royal Marine, famously summited all fourteen 8,000-metre peaks in 2019.
