Proposed urea plant secures $2.4b worth of deals without being built

The Australian Fertilizer Corporation secured $2.4 billion in sales contracts for a proposed urea plant at Gladstone, despite the facility not yet being built. Chief executive Stein Haugan announced that customers have committed to purchase all 220,000 tonnes of annual production for the next decade. The project aims to enhance domestic urea supply as Australia currently imports.
