Queensland plans $100 million boost to address social housing demands

The Queensland Audit Office revealed on Tuesday that the state’s housing department has only fully addressed four of eight recommendations aimed at improving social housing management. With 32,848 applicants awaiting housing and reduced staffing cited as a contributing factor, the government plans to invest an additional $100 million over four years to build 2,000 new homes annually.
