Australia sees drop in children engaged in daily sports activities

Australian children are increasingly disengaging from sport, with only 23 percent of those aged 5 to 14 active for 60 minutes daily. Australian Sports Commission chief executive Kieren Perkins warned that while the nation excels in elite sport, participation rates are alarmingly low, with many teens turning away from organized activities altogether.
