Qld to get new centralised child protection commission

The Queensland government announced the establishment of a new child protection commission on Tuesday, set to become operational by February. Attorney-General Deb Frecklington described it as a $250 million initiative to enhance coordination among child safeguarding functions in response to a review triggered by the state's worst childcare paedophile case involving Ashley Paul Griffith, who abused 69 children.
